2026 Steve Kunkel Sportsmanship Scholarship Winners Announced
The Indiana Bowling Centers Association (IBCA) proudly announces the recipients of the
2026 Steve Kunkel Sportsmanship Scholarship, honoring Indiana high school student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and sportsmanship on and off the lanes.
The scholarship honors the legacy of Steve Kunkel, whose lifelong dedication helped create, build, and support the Indiana High School Bowling Program. Through mentoring countless youth bowlers and coaches, Steve emphasized that success is defined by integrity, respect, and sportsmanship—regardless of wins or losses.
The IBCA Scholarship Selection Committee received 19 nominations for the 2026 award, recognizing student-athletes who exemplify these core values:
Win with Dignity • Lose with Grace • Respect the Game • Embrace Your Team • Work Hard
Chuck Kane, IBCA Scholarship Selection Committee member, stated:
“Each nominee has a storied history of sportsmanship, passion, and team and fellow camaraderie.”
The
2025-2026 Steve Kunkel Sportsmanship Scholarship recipients are:
• North Zone Girls: Korinn Rosenquist Valparaiso High School
• North Zone Boys: Miken Habegger Bluffton High School
• Central Zone Girls: Cheyenne Cole Franklin Central High School
• Central Zone Boys: Gannon Myers Lebanon High School
• South Zone Girls: Isabella Davenport* Evansville North High School
• South Zone Girls: Aubrey Houser* Terre Haute North High School
• South Zone Boys: Jaden Wooldridge Madison Consolidated High School
Each recipient will receive a $500 SMART Scholarship, a custom award, and an invitation to participate in the IHSB All-State Scholarship Tournament. Winners will be recognized during the IHSB All-State Tournament at Championship Lanes on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
