Dear Parents in the Shepparton Region,
Don’t miss out on the first launch of Junior X! I am inviting you to sign up your child/ren for our new and exciting format “Junior X”. This is a new program the AFL is driving a lot of time into to allow our participants to not have to forget about football as soon as our seasons end. Don’t let your child/ren put their footy boots away just yet.. The AFL have designed this new and exciting round robin system that will allow all kids of varied skill levels to enjoy running round and playing football with their friends.
Who is eligible to play in our new and exciting Junior X program?
There are two age groups for both boys and girls, there will be u12 boys and u12 girls as well as u14 boys and under 14 girls. The program is aimed at kids from the age of 8-14.
What is Junior X?
Junior X is a fun and exciting modified version of the game for participants aged 8-14 years of age. A fast, fun, free-flowing game that involves 9 players on each team playing on a smaller field with the aim to have 3 subs for each team. This is a very exciting initiative that the AFL has launched for the first time. We are very keen to see so many participants out there and really enjoy the new and exciting format of football that will be ran like a round robin competition over an 8-week period. This program will be launched on the 3rd of October and will finish up on the 21st of November.
The AFL produced this program to allow kids to not throw the football boots away to quickly after our regular seasons finish with the junior competitions or Auskick centres finish up. We want to allow our participants to soak up the great weather through the springtime and play every Monday night with more of a social and fun experience playing against all different participants from around the Shepparton region.
What the night will look like?
We will play multiple games over the course of a Monday night starting from 5:45pm and finishing around 7pm; we will do up a fixture that will be sent out to participants in regard to playing times. We are going to have music playing, lights flashing and plenty of fun being had. We want to take the competitive side of things away and focus on our participants enjoying every minute they are out on the field.
How to sign up?
Follow the links to sign up as a team with friends or you can sign up a team through your school/local football club or participants can sign up individually and we can assign them to a team.
