AFL Goulburn Murray has received confirmation from the Goulburn Valley League (GVL) Board they have confirmed their position with their clubs regarding the withdrawal of the U16’s competition from 2022 onwards.
We acknowledge the position of the GVL with regards to the U16’s and will now engage with relevant stakeholders prior to finalising a position for 2023 and beyond.
We are conscious that clubs will be seeking clarity on the junior competition structures sooner rather than later, as such will seek to provide that clarity as soon as we can. Clubs should be comforted that proper consideration will be given to ensure the provision of an appropriate competition for this age group, beyond 2022.
