Review: ‘The 100’ Season 7 Raises The Stakes In Its Final Season
The 100 is a series that has undergone several evolutions. From being about a group of teenagers raised in space and sent down to Earth for the first time since a nuclear apocalypse, to now, seven seasons later, being on a new planet and fighting for the survival of the human race once again. It has been The 100’s ability to reinvent itself that has kept it fresh and viewers hooked all these seasons. With the premiere of the seventh and final season tonight on the CW, fans can only sit and speculate how the series is going to wrap everything up.
The season gets off to a bit of a bumpy start. It picks up pretty immediately after season 6 left off, with Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) getting stabbed by a magically grown-up Hope (Shelby Flannery), and getting sucked into the Anomaly. Meanwhile Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Co. try to figure out how to keep the peace in Sanctum. The political maneuvering that occupies much of episode 1 is a bit of a drag, but luckily the season starts to pick up after that (the first four episodes of the season were released to the press). Episode 2, titled “The Garden,” fills in a lot of the gaps on what happened to Diyoza (Ivana Miličević), Octavia, and then fetus Hope, after they went into the Anomaly. How the Anomaly works is a little confusing at first, but once it all starts to click, it becomes clear that the Anomaly is a game changer for the series, and is most likely the key to ending the series.

The 100 made its much-anticipated season seven return last night (May 20), and with it came a lot for fans to digest.
One of the biggest moments was Russell Lightbourne (JR Bourne) getting possessed by Sheidheda after being killed by the Dark Commander.
While the others are unaware of the ‘new’ Russell, it sounds like the twist will understandably be “bad news” going forward.
“But it’s great news for us because JR Bourne is fantastic,” showrunner Jason Rothenberg told TV Guide. "And getting to see him play this totally new character is a delight, really.
“I mean, he’s a big villain, that’s for sure. He’s not a good guy. But he has a perspective like all of our villains – I hesitate to even use the word villain because everybody’s is grey really on the show. We try to obviously dimensionalize the bad guys and certainly we dirty up the good guys.
“He’s probably more on the Cage Wallace (Johnny Whitworth) side of the bad guy scale, perhaps even somewhere near McCreary, dare I say?… We’re going to get pretty deep into who Sheidheda is and what Sheidheda wants, and obviously, he wants everything.”

Season seven of The 100 will see the post-apocalyptic series come to a final close.
Beginning on May 20 in the US, fans will be able to watch the new season on The CW at 8pm EST.
There will be 16 episodes in total in the final series which will all be airing weekly on the channel.
After each episode has been broadcast live on the network, viewers will be able to watch it online via catch-up.
The 100: Every Previous Story Season 7 Has Repeated So Far
The 100 is no stranger to repeating themes and ideas. Most seasons of the show have largely been about big conflicts between groups of people who should be able to peacefully coexist but can’t get past simple obstacles in the way. This has led to many seasons repeating a lot of the same ideas and conflicts, just from different perspectives.
Season 7 of The 100 is no different on that front, repeating many previous stories in different configurations. In just two episodes, season 7 has repeated a number of stories from other seasons.
