What Makes an MVP?
29 Mar by Natasha Kalweit
Wondering how your child can be an MVP? It’s not just about top scoring; think about the following:
I CAN…
▶ Ask for help- from my team mates and coaches
▶ Share the ball- pass it if I have players on me
▶ Support my team mates on and off the court
▶ Defend the ball- chase it, go after it
▶ Keep trying- never give up!
▶ Use my voice- if I want the ball; if I see an opening; if I need help. My voice can make a difference!
▶ Miss a shot (or all my shots)- I can make a difference in other ways
▶ Not be hard on myself- no one is perfect! I’m allowed to make a mistake
▶ Practice- dribbling; shooting- whatever you can do at home/school
▶ Listen- at training, on the court, during time outs
▶ Not let a loss define us as a team or me as a player- I will learn from it and try again!
▶ Do MY best and not worry about what everyone else is doing
