The Western Province North Under-19 Provincial Identity Squad successfully participated in a Player Education Program held on the 19th of May 2026 at the HPC Brain Center Auditorium.

The session focused on developing players’ understanding of modern-day match awareness and decision-making under pressure. Key areas discussed during the program included Match Situation Reading, Game Awareness, strategies for Power Play, Middle Overs and Death Overs, as well as Pressure Handling in competitive situations.

The program aimed to enhance the players’ tactical understanding of the game while helping them build confidence to adapt to different match scenarios. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, the players gained valuable insights into how smart decision-making and composure can influence performances at the highest level.

Such educational initiatives continue to play an important role in developing well-rounded cricketers with both technical and mental strengths for the future of Sri Lankan cricket.
