Monitoring Progress, Improving Performance: North Western Province Coaches Upgrade Coaching Knowledge

14 May by Coach Education Unit

The North Western Province District Coaches Education Program was successfully conducted on the 14th of May 2026 at the Province Office, Welagedara, bringing together coaches for an important knowledge-sharing and development session focused on modern player monitoring methods.

The program mainly focused on two key areas: creating effective player progress reports and reviewing players’ training sessions. Coaches were educated on the importance of structured evaluations, performance tracking, and maintaining proper development records to support long-term athlete growth.

Special discussions highlighted how progress reports can help identify player strengths, weaknesses, and development needs, while training session reviews allow coaches to evaluate the effectiveness of practice plans and overall player engagement. The session also encouraged coaches to adopt more analytical and observation-based approaches within their coaching environments.

The program served as another valuable step in strengthening the standards of coach education and player development systems within the North Western Province cricket structure.
