On the 25th of March 2026, the WP North School Under-19 Player Education Program was successfully conducted at W.W. Kannangara College Auditorium, bringing together aspiring young cricketers for an impactful learning experience beyond the field.

The session focused on developing the mental and personal aspects of the players, starting with the importance of purpose and goal setting. Players were encouraged to define clear short-term and long-term goals, helping them understand the direction of their cricketing journey and personal growth.
A key highlight of the program was building a strong team vision under the theme “Why We Play.” This segment emphasized the value of playing not just for individual success, but for team pride, unity, and a shared purpose. It helped players connect emotionally with the game and their teammates.

The discussion on mindset development introduced players to the concepts of growth and fixed mindsets. Through practical examples, they learned how adopting a growth mindset can improve performance, resilience, and the ability to learn from mistakes.
Handling pressure was another critical area covered in the session. Players were guided on how to stay calm, focused, and confident during high-pressure situations, both in matches and in life.

Overall, the program created a strong foundation for these young athletes to think smarter, play with purpose, and develop into well-rounded cricketers ready to face future challenges.
