The Player Education Program for the Nuwara Eliya District Under 23 Women’s Cricket Team was successfully conducted on 20th February 2026 at the historic Norwood Ground, focusing on the theme “Empowering Future Women Cricketers.” The session aimed at inspiring young female athletes to build confidence, resilience, and a strong vision for their cricketing journeys.

The program emphasized the importance of self-belief, discipline, and professionalism both on and off the field. Players were encouraged to understand their responsibility as role models in women’s cricket and to embrace leadership qualities that extend beyond the boundary ropes. Discussions highlighted the growth of women’s cricket and the expanding opportunities available for talented and committed players.

Special attention was given to mental strength, goal setting, and maintaining high performance standards. The session also addressed the importance of teamwork, communication, and creating a positive team culture that supports individual and collective success.

The interactive environment allowed players to share their ambitions, challenges, and experiences, fostering unity and motivation within the squad. The initiative served as a valuable platform to reinforce that empowering women in cricket goes beyond skill development—it is about building strong, confident individuals ready to shape the future of the game.

The program concluded on a positive note, with the Nuwara Eliya U23 Women’s team leaving the session inspired and determined to elevate their performance and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of women’s cricket.
