The Level One Coaching Course 2026 – Uva Province, currently underway at Badulla DC Ground, continued successfully into Day Two, building on the strong foundation established on Day One. After covering the core principles and introductory modules of Level 1 coaching on the opening day, the program progressed into more specialized technical areas, focusing on fast bowling and spin bowling through both theory and practical sessions.

Day One of the Level 1 course laid the groundwork by introducing coaching fundamentals, player management principles, safety considerations, and structured session planning. Coaches were equipped with the essential knowledge required to guide young cricketers effectively while understanding their responsibilities as certified Level 1 coaches.
On Day Two, attention shifted to the technical and biomechanical aspects of bowling. The fast bowling module covered run-up consistency, load-up position, front-foot landing, seam presentation, and injury prevention. Emphasis was placed on correcting common technical faults and ensuring safe bowling actions, particularly at junior levels.

The spin bowling session focused on grip variations, body alignment, pivot, release points, and flight control. Coaches were guided on how to teach both finger spin and wrist spin techniques, along with drills designed to improve accuracy and deception.
Both theory and practical components were integrated throughout the day, allowing participants to observe demonstrations before applying the concepts in on-field practice sessions. Interactive discussions encouraged knowledge sharing among coaches, strengthening the overall learning experience.
