On 18th February 2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., a comprehensive Player Education Program focusing on Technical Batting Evaluation was successfully conducted for the Under 13 District Squad of Anuradhapura at Samadi Ground, Anuradhapura. The program, organized upon the request of the North Central Province (NCP), aimed at assessing and refining the batting techniques of 26 promising young cricketers.
The session was carefully structured to evaluate key technical components of batting, including grip, stance, back-lift, footwork, head position, shot selection, and balance. Each player was individually assessed to identify strengths and areas that require improvement. The evaluation process ensured that the players received constructive feedback tailored to their specific technical needs.

Throughout the day, emphasis was placed on developing correct fundamentals at an early stage, recognizing that strong technical foundations are essential for long-term success in cricket. The program also provided practical demonstrations and corrective drills, enabling players to immediately apply the feedback during net sessions.

Coaches and support staff closely observed the assessment process, ensuring alignment between district-level coaching standards and provincial expectations. The initiative reflects the commitment of the North Central Province to systematically monitor and develop young talent through structured education programs.

The Technical Batting Evaluation Program concluded successfully, equipping the young Anuradhapura cricketers with greater awareness of their technique and a clear pathway for improvement. Such focused developmental initiatives continue to strengthen the grassroots structure and build a solid foundation for the future of cricket in the region.
