Day 3 of the Southern Province Level One Coaching Course 2025 focused on enhancing coaches’ understanding of the game through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skill development. The sessions were structured to help coaches improve both technical instruction and match awareness at the grassroots level.

The day covered essential aspects of fielding and wicket keeping, emphasizing correct technique, positioning, and movement efficiency in game situations. Practical sessions allowed participants to observe and practise drills that can be directly applied when training players of different age groups. Alongside this, theory-based discussions helped reinforce the importance of decision-making and situational awareness on the field.

A dedicated session on the laws of cricket further strengthened coaches’ ability to manage matches effectively and guide players with confidence.
