First Aid Certification Program Conducted for Level 1 Candidates & School Coaches – Southern Province
10 Dec by Coach Education Unit
A First Aid training program for Level 1 coaching candidates and school coaches from the Southern Province was conducted today, 10th December, at the Galle Stadium.
This training forms a mandatory component of the Level 1 coaching curriculum, ensuring that coaches are equipped with essential first aid skills required to manage on-field injuries, respond to emergencies, and ensure the safety and well-being of players under their care.
Participants were trained on critical areas including injury prevention, basic life support, emergency response protocols, and common sports-related injury management. The session was delivered through practical demonstrations and hands-on activities, enabling coaches to gain real-world confidence in handling medical situations during training sessions and competitive matches.
This initiative reflects Sri Lanka Cricket’s continued commitment to raising coaching standards and promoting a safe, professionally guided environment for young players across the Southern Province.
