CRRL Season update
29 Apr 2020 by Scott Logan
Hi Everybody,
Hope you are all safe and well!
We had a meeting last night with the other Clubs and the CRRL to see what we can do to have some sort of Competition this year.
Several scenarios were put up from a 9 round comp to playing a couple of "Gala" or Round Robin type Weekends. There is also the possibility that we may not play again this year.
All of the options come with heavily scrutinized and labour intensive cleaning and hygienic practices that will have to be done by the Clubs.
Financially, All funding from the League has been suspended for the 2020 and the 2021 season and the Insurance company is still yet to advise what costs will be born for each Club, for this year to date. Funding from our Sponsors is on hold, as we can't guarantee any return or exposure for their hard working and suffering businesses atm.
Ultimately, there will be no decisions made on any type of play and/or training until the CRRL have spoken with and have approval and guidelines from the ACT Government.
So, as a wrap up, all of the Clubs expressed exactly the same problems, so I can assure you that we will all be working together, with the League to achieve, safe and acceptable outcomes.
We will keep you updated when more information becomes available and as decisions are made.
Stay safe!! Daz Piercy
