LAST WEEK –
Green Fleet hit the water for the first triangle race course of the season with 27 boats and 27 very motivated skippers! Special thank you to our parent volunteer Ramp Troll & Ramp Fairies who helped with safety checks before bringing the fleet to the beach.
The Royal Hobart Regatta Racing was an event of an event… 5 29ers left the beach, and 1 made it to the race course in the blustery Nor’Wester. A flock of 6 very intrepid Cadets made it to the race course, raced and unfortunately none finished due to abandonment on the final beat! Another 6 tough Opti sailors hit the course, a few wipeouts, a few finishes, one almost submarine… Thank you to all the parent volunteers who worked as a team to get everyone safely back to shore, including assistance with on-water derigging. Finally – special CONGRATS to Opti Sailor Genevieve S who was the winner of the Cash Prize Lucky Dip!!!
