Rugby Laws Memo – from Rugby Australia
Please find attached a Laws Memo from Rugby Australia
It states that the World Rugby optional law trials will NOT be adopted for Community Rugby
Also that NONE of the Super Rugby Law Variations will be adopted for Community Rugby
IMPORTANT – ALL community Rugby will be adopting the law change to NO tries being scored against the goal post padding
Some other really important information in the attached – make sure clubs, coaches and players are fully aware.
Return to Training/ Play – UPDATE
NSWRU, NSWCRU & Office of Sport have requested to NSW Health that there be changes made to clubs/ competitions taking a registry at games
We understand that this is difficult with multi-field facilities and we expect a common sense result regarding this matter
The COVID Safety plan are solid guidelines for clubs to work from but as I have outlined in previous correspondence – CLUBS need to focus on the following which is more than manageable request during a pandemic:
Follow the Rugby specific guidelines at
https://nsw.rugby/participate/return-to-playManagement of where crowds can form/ gather is paramount. Consider how to manage the following:
Gate at Rugby Club for entry
Canteen lines (clearly marked entry & exit, distance markers on the ground on where to line up)
Consider having adequate space for teams to assemble/ warm up utilising space around the rugby field
Spectators are utilising the space around the field including behind the dead ball lines
Encourage players to get ready at home, “get in and get out” and limit change rooms usage
Up to $1000 grant for sporting clubs (Community Sport Recovery package) – UPDATE
NSWRU & NSWCRU are working with the Office of Sport to provide all the relevant requirements for the grants for our rugby clubs.
Office of sport have requested that the State Sporting organisations ie. NSWRU – apply for the grant on the clubs behalf – which we will achieve before the deadline for ALL RUGBY CLUBS across NSW Country Rugby Union and all other rugby clubs.
We will be sending out more information in the coming week when it comes to hand.
Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions.
