Coffs Harbour Crusaders Junior Rugby - IMPORTANT

Dear parents and players

Get Into Rugby (GIR)
In regards to the Corona virus and the measures in place across the community to minimise it’s spread, the Coffs Harbour Crusaders in alignment will Rugby Australia will be postponing the last 3 weeks of Get Into Rugby until we are given the go ahead to start again. We will try our best to fit it in on Friday 1 May. rugby Australia is trying to get a super rugby player or Aussie 7s player up on that date as well. After a successful two weeks to start the GIR prpgram we want to be able to finish this off with a bang. For those that were waiting for shirts. They are currently sitting in Hong Kong due to the lack of flights coming into Australia now. As soon as they arrive we will let you know.

Normal season
In regards to the Friday night competition that is due to start on 8 May, this is still planned pending what happens with the virus. But in the immediate future there will be no training for teams participating in that competition until Rugby Australia gives the go ahead through the Commonwealth Governments Advisers. This is currently set at the first week in May. At worst we can play right up until the September October Holidays so if we need to start in June/July we will.

Representative rugby
The under 12s trip to the TAS Carnival in Armidale during April has been cancelled and the under 12s NSW Country Championships have been moved to the June long weekend in Camden with the state titles. The under 10s and 11s State Titles are still on the Central Coast in the July School holidays.

Gala days
At this stage the Crusaders Gala day will go ahead in June pending further advice. It may be moved to a later date or cancelled all together. We are still planning to go to the Armidale Gala Day on the last weekend in August for under 10, 11s and 12s.

Registrations
Registrations are open through the rugby explorer app but I suggest you hold off until we see what the season will involve. For those that have already paid, should there be no season you will be given a refund.

Reassure your children we will start playing as soon as we can. In the meantime throw a rugby ball around with them and keep them interested. We are all itching to get back out.

Stay tuned for further information on the Coffs Harbour Crusaders facebook page
