I want to start off by saying this weekend was a win by far. let's start by talking about yesterday's game. 1st we played pretty much our rivals even though we haven't played them this year, you could tell they really wanted to beat us and we didn't let that happen . 2nd game vs Lebanon they came out in a zone ish.. I talked to the girls about attacking from the side to draw in the defenders but for some reason Lebanon didn't want to move they looked like statues and we to shoot mid range shoots and hit them all just about. I looked at Jen and said they will have to come out of this pretty soon or this will be a shooting Practice for us. The Lebanon game was good for us and what I mean by that is we got other kids a lot more playing time. Now on to the South game!!!! If you haven't seen the girls dig in and fight like this game I am sorry but it was pretty amazing to watch. I loved seeing the girls box out for the most part and fight for rebounds like no other. This game took a ton of energy and will out of these 5th grade girls. I am not sure I know any other 5th grade team boy or girls team be able to give so much and then come out in the next game and do the same thing. Silverton is probably the best coached team we have faced all year and I hate to say it but he out coaches me and I take that loose on me. The girls effort in that game was good and I don't want them to think it was all on them. I think we are doing well for a team that Practices twice a week for roughly an hour after warming up. Please do me a favor talk to your kids and tell them that today was a great day to be a cougar and let them know to have a short memory about the championship game because that game doesn't reflect the way these girls fight and play this game. We have a good group of girls and for a 4A school I will take it.
