REP UPDATE - happy holidays!

23 Jun 2022 by Jennifer Mclntyre

Dear Parents,
Just a quick note from me to thank everyone for a wonderful first season of netball. The coaches and l are very appreciative of the support of all our families and it has been wonderful to see all our players back into netball.
A special mention to the 17's teams who played off in the Grandfinal last night - the 17 2s who have had a wonderful season finished runner up and played a terrific game really giving an undefeated opposition some nervous moments! Well Done Chris and players.
Speaking of nervous moments - the 17 1s came back from 9 down to take the Premiership by 1 goal with seconds on the clock. Congratulations to all players - displaying impressive composure and to the parents l hope your high blood pressure has returned to normal - it was intense!
Well Done to Nat who coached a terrific game- she led the way and stayed calm and never lost faith the team could do it!
I also wanted to say a very big thank you to the coaches, training partners and families and players from other age groups who came and watched the teams last night - super impressive effort and it made me so proud of the culture of the program and players we have in the program. I know the players in the team also appreciated the support.

There will be no training over the school holidays - so we encourage players to utilise the holidays for some downtime but please keep up your fitness. We have requested for some teams to go up to a higher section so we do not want to be coming back to training needing to regain fitness.

Training will resume on Monday July 11 and the Waverley games will commence that week (13s, 15,17s and Open). 11/U will be joining in the fun at Waverley and when that info is finalised - it will be shared directly with 11s families. I think it will be a wonderful opportunity for the 11s to have some extra game play after the last two covid affected years. I have attached a photo of dates of play - so you have some idea of dates at the end of the year.

Lastly l would like to shout out the rep coaches we have at CDNA - they are incredibly devoted and spend so much time training planning sessions, thinking about opposition teams, thinking about how to improve your player and we should never take that for granted. Rep coaches are very difficult to find and we are blessed to have the talent we do.

I hope you all have a wonderful break and look forward to seeing you around the courts when we return from holidays.

Kind Regards
Jen
