Fife made the trip to Blairgowrie to play Perthshire in Round 4 of County Matches.

Womens B

Ana Bestani got Perthshire off to the perfect start, defeating Liza Warrender 2 - 0. Michelle Cruickshanks then doubled the lead, defeating Gillian Hepplewhite 2 - 1. Lynn Torrance gave Fife a glimmer of hope of salvaging a draw by defeating Natasha Bird 2 - 0, but Susan Gellatly ensured the points went to Perth by defeating Lauren Torrance 2 - 0

Peter Cessford got Fife off to a winning start, by defeating Brian McLeod (jnr) 3 - 0. The next 4 sets also went to Fife, with Ian Paterson defeating Cameron Leadbetter 3 - 0, Steve Douglas just getting the better of Chris Robertson 3 - 2. Jamie Munn put in a very impressive display, defeating Billy Gray 3 - 0 with a 27.33 avg. James Giles also winning 3 - 0. Last up was Team Manager Gordon Donnelly, who unfortunately couldn't keep his 100% record, losing 3 - 1 to Andy Shepherd

Fife got off to a good start with Steph Gilmour defeating Maggie Cook 3 - 2 and Chelsea McMahon defeating Sarah Christie 3 - 0. Unfortunately that was the last bit of success for Fife. Perthshire rattling off the next 4 sets. Chloe O'Brien defeating Sarah Binnie 3 - 0, Jane Orr just getting the better of Andrea Carr 3 - 2, Theresa Hill defeating Jane Bassett 3 - 0 and Karen Cruickshanks wrapping things up, defeating Linda Hutchison 3 -1.

Mens A

On to the Mens A. Again Fife got off to a flying start. Rab Shaw defeating Graeme Low 4 - 1, Alex Jeffery 4 - 0 against Wayne Shepherd with the best of the day 29.47 avg and Jimmy Gay defeating Steve Pirie 4 - 1 with another impressive game. Mark Fraser pulled one back, defeating Paddy Reilly, with the comeback of the day, 4 - 3, after being 3 - 0 down. Dayle Morgan kept the gap to 3, with again another impressive display, defeating Neil MacDougall 4 - 0. Brian Welsh got Perthshires second set on the board, with a 4 - 3 defeat of Alan Small. Again Fife extended their lead, Brendyn Donnelly defeating Scott Smith (jnr) 4 - 1. Perthshire weren't finished yet, winning the next 3 sets to square it at 5 - 5. Glenn Forsyth edging out Aaron French 4 - 3, Craig McFadden 4 - 0 against Jeff Wardlaw and Ross MacDougall winning 4 - 3 in a very high scoring set against Dean Carr. Colin Hepplewhite stopped the rot beating Scott Pirie 4 - 1. So on to the final set, where it went one way then the other, but Colin Miller held his nerve to win the match for Fife, defeating Scott Melloy 4 - 3.
