Hello Water Polo Parents,

Congratulations again to all our student-athletes who made the team this year! We're gearing up for an amazing season, and it's exciting to see our team improving year after year.

With a son on the team, you're now part of the Point Loma High School Pointer Association (PLHS-PA) Boys Water Polo Boosters. For those who've been with us before, you might notice a change—Boys Water Polo is now its own booster organization, under the PLHS-PA umbrella. This was a decision made last spring to better focus on each individual sport within the former PLHS-PA Aquatics Boosters.

Our mission is simple: build team spirit, increase pride and morale, and support our coaches and student-athletes through volunteer and fundraising activities. As fun as the season will be, we’ve got some work ahead, and we need your help!

Please check out the key areas where you can pitch in:

• Senior Night Chairs (10/16; by tradition, this would not be senior parents, but Dominique Miller Mimno, Meredith Pung, and Jen Sanchez have all done it and would be happy to give some direction) -- Anna Lowe and Lorraine Galvin
• End of Season Banquet Chairs/Committee (Date TBD; need 3-4) -- Anna Lowe, Cameron Lilley, Michelle Foley, Catherine Puckett
• Corporate Sponsor Lead (advertising and Google Form already drafted and approved; work with Coach Brandon to determine how to display logos on Hudl livestreams and work with Meredith Pung and/or Jen Sanchez to help push out the “ask”)
• Parka Loan Program Lead -- Michelle Hemstreet
• Fab Food Friday Lead + Volunteers (need 6-8 total) for next Friday 8/23 (order and sell food at high school lunch period) -- Dave Schroeder, Nancy Schroeder, Lorraine Galvin, Cameron Lilley, Colleen Espenschied, Catherine Puckett
• Hotel Accommodations Lead for away tournaments (secure discounted hotel blocks)
o 9/19-9/21 Villa Park Classic—Krista Bockstahler
o 10/4-10/5 Orange County Classic—Jill Chiodini
• Hang up/take down senior banners for each home game--Jen Sanchez
• Take charge of team water bottles for each game—Cahills (Varsity)
• Help sell logo wear at home games (need 3-4, ideally mix of JV & Varsity so volunteers don't need to work the table while their kiddo is playing) -- Michelle Foley, Catherine Puckett, Jackie Owre, Heather Dannecker
• Take photos or game film for Instagram posts

We’re also looking for another board member to step in for the remainder of the season and learn the ropes for next fall. If you’re curious about any role but want to know more before committing, just ask!
