Two previous Dixie Archery records were eclipsed at the Kentucky NASP Region 8 Tournament on Saturday! Dixie Archery shot 3329 which now stands as the highest archery tournament score in school history! We shattered the previous high score of 3294 by 35 points! We finished in 4th place out of 27 teams. Our score was 1 point out of 3rd and 10 points out of 2nd.

Our top scoring archers included Carly McGee (291), Bella Dorio (287), Hallie Kriege (285), Phoebe Roberts (283), Aubrey Hopkins (279), Riley Edwards (276), Jacob Wilson (276), Emma McAndrews (275), Lydia Dailey (273), Clair Meyers (273), Emma Steinbrunner (271), Mike Creamer (270), Hunter Harms (268), and Matthew Abbott (266).

Carly McGee finished tied with Simon Kenton’s Paige Robbins for the tournament’s top overall score. This tie resulted in a shoot out between Carly and Paige which consisted of 5 arrows from 15 meters. One arrow made the difference, as Carly would finish in 2nd place.

Carly’s score of 291 is now the highest archery tournament score by a female archer in school history! Carly had 2 perfect ends of 50 from 10 meters.

Bella Dorio, Emma McAndrews, and Gabe Kautz had perfect ends of 50 from 10 meters!
