Welcome to the BHYFL Rapid City Marshals Indoor Football Team SuperBowl.
Last Saturday we played a lot of football out on the turf of South Dakota Mines O'Harra Stadium and again this Saturday for the SuperBowl.
We will kick off the Mighty Mite SuperBowl at 10a.
3 seed Piedmont Valley Panthers Youth Football And Cheer Association Panthers Black squad make their first trip to the SuperBowl after a shutout performance last week to face the favored, 1 seed BHYFL Rapid City Broncos. First let's talk about the Panthers from Piedmont. The Panthers entered the playoffs with two losses on the year, the Steelers by 4 and the Broncos by 2. Last year they were favored and the snow took the traction away from them so this year meant a little extra to get back to the playoffs and make a run. For the Broncos, they come in as the 1 seed and undefeated on the year with a close contest back in week 5 against the Panthers. The MM Broncos looked dominating last Saturday with a 30-8 victory catapulting them into the BHYFL RC Marshals Indoor Football Team SuperBowl. This shakes up to be a very competitive match up and a wonderful way to start the day.
In our second contest at 12:30p we have the undefeated and 1 seeded BHYFL Rapid City Broncos Blue against the 2 seed BHYFL Rapid City Steelers in our Junior Pee Wee division. The RC Broncos trounced the RC Steelers in week 6 34-0. Again, last Saturday the Rams showed little resistance to the 1 seed Broncos who feature a solid passing attack and outstanding discipline on defense. The Steelers are going to have to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the Broncos this weekend to make them uncomfortable. The Steelers will have to play solid team defense and minimize turnovers if they have a chance to have a shot in the 4th quarter. The best part of being the underdog is the Steelers can come out playing loose and just let it rip.
We wrap the season up with our Pee Wee Division at 3p when we have a physical matchup between the 2 seed Badlands Eagles Youth Football and Cheerleading after clinging to a win last week, against the 1 seed Sturgis Buccaneers Youth Football & Cheer who have consistently been the best team in the league all year. The Bucs physical style of football along with a deep core of athletes make the Bucs the team to beat. But as much as things change, some things stay the same as we see the Badland Eagles back in the SuperBowl after a dry spell for a couple years. You can bet the Eagles will lean on some tradition, solid coaching, and a little underdog motivation as they look to upend the Sturgis Bucs who for the 1st time have a chance at a SuperBowl title. The Eagles have one loss on the year and redeemed that last weekend in the 1st round of the playoffs while the Bucs pitched another shutout last weekend. The eyes are on the Bucs to run the table for a perfect season.
We look forward to our cheer teams halftime performances and ask that all teams move towards the end zone. The cheerleaders have rocked it all year, had an amazing cheer competition so it's only fitting we have them show off their hard work and trust in their teammates "One More Time".
We are very excited to have representatives with our NEW RC Marshals Indoor Football Team at the SuperBowl. I'm sure they will be excited to share some of the upcoming events, schedules, and introduce themselves. In speaking with Tel, one of the owners, I know he is excited to be at the BHYFL RC Marshals Indoor Football Team SuperBowl. Head Coach Dante Dudley and Assistant Coach Dan Maciejczak will also be in attendance during the course of the day. Tel is hoping maybe a few other employees of the Marshals team may be able to attend as well. BHYFL is very excited about our partnership with the Marshals and will be sharing exciting information as their season gets closer.
Little housekeeping.
The RC Steelers will be running concession stands this weekend so please help support their fundraising efforts.
After each game we will allow families to come out on the field and gather at the end zone for celebration and pictures after awards have been handed out by both BHYFL and RC Marshal representatives.
At 15 mins before game, we will clear the field.
We ask "No Smoking". Regardless if the parking ramp is a smoke area for college and high school games, there is "No Smoking" at BHYFL events.
Please clean your area up if in the parking ramp or in the stands. We want to leave the facility nicer than when we came.
It's crazy to think the season is coming to an end. We have so much to look forward to in 2022 which includes a new association in Rapid City called the RC Raiders, the rebirth of the Custer Ravens Football & Cheer Custer/Hill City Ravens and our continued partnerships with Scheels, Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic, High Plains Physical Therapy, Monument Health, Century Construction Services, Skyline Engineering LLC, and Blackstone Lodge & Suites.
We would also like to send a shout out to the Rapid City Stevens Raiders Football team and Coach Scott this year for allowing participants of the BHYFL to be their ball boys this fall and Rapid City Central-Cobbler Activities for allowing us access to their practice field. A huge shout out to South Dakota School of Mines Hardrockers Athletics Hardrockers Football for their continued support of BHYFL and allowing us to use their wonderful facility. Thanks you to the school districts of Wall, Hot Springs, Lead/Deadwood, Sturgis/Piedmont, Belle Fourche, and New Underwood for allowing our young student athletes to compete at your facility. Thank you to Black Hills State University Football for coming through in a pinch a few weeks back when the weather got a little white for us.
Thank you to our officials, our volunteers, and all those supporting our young athletes as they play the greatest game on earth. It really is amazing how many people step up each year to make our BHYFL season successful. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
See you Saturday at the BHYFL RC Marshals Indoor Football Team SuperBowl.
