BHYFL Week 7

20 Oct 2021 by Cody Uran

Well, here we are, week 7 of the BHYFL regular season.

We will start things over in Piedmont Piedmont Valley Panthers Youth Football And Cheer Association where the Spearfish Rams BHYFL come to town ready to lock horns.
9a - PW - The Rams look to lock up a seed in the playoffs and defend their SuperBowl Championship of a year ago when they play the Panthers who have one more chance to play the spoiler role this year.
11a - JPW -The Panthers lurk just outside the playoff picture but would enjoy a late season win against the 4 seed Rams.
1p - MM - We finish the day over in Piedmont with a couple teams that look very similar on paper as does their record. For both teams they want to finish the year with a win. The Panther Blue team has been on a roll late and hope to wrap up the season with a win on their home field.

The Sturgis Buccaneers welcome the Belle Fourche Colts to town for a season finale.
10a - MM - both teams look to wrap up their season in the win column. Coming off a bye the Bucs put up a lot of points last week.
12p - JPW - This too is likely the last game both of these teams play this year. The Bucs were in a tight one last week while the Colts struggled to find the end zone.
2p - PW - Your 1 seed and favorites in the PW division host the Colts who look for a huge upset and send the playoff picture in a tailspin. The Bucs have been very dominant this year only giving up 14 total points.

The BHYFL Rapid City Steelers hope to get back on track as they travel to Deadwood to take on the Lead-Deadwood Youth Football Association 49ers.
10a - MM - The Steelers look to rebound from their first loss of the year against a 49ers team that didn't find the end zone last week.
12p - JPW - In game two we have a late season matchup between two teams with 5-1 records sitting 2nd and 3rd in the playoff hunt. The 49ers look to take advantage of some home field cooking while the Steelers will try to rebound from being shutout and shutdown last week.
2p - This last contest is important for the 49ers as they try to stay in the playoff picture after a tough loss last week. The 49ers currently hold onto the 4th seed while the Steelers hope to steal a late season win.

Down in Hot Springs the Bills will have their hands full with the BHYFL Rapid City Broncos this weekend.
12p - MM - The undefeated and top rankled Broncos look to finish their regular season by running loose on some Bills.
2p - JPW - In game two you have the undefeated and powerhouse RC Bronco Blue against the Bills. This will take a huge effort for the Bills as nobody has shown to have the right answers for this Bronco Blue team this year.
4p - PW - The Bills will finish their season against a Broncos Blue team that sits right ahead of them in the standings. Should be a competitive, well coached game.

The Badlands Eagles Youth Football and Cheerleading will host a couple of associations (BHYFL Rapid City Broncos and Piedmont Valley Panthers Youth Football And Cheer Association) over in Wall to wrap up the season.
10a - PW - The Eagles are flying high after a huge win last week that elevated their chances of the playoffs. They cannot afford a late season slip up against a RC Broncos Orange team coming off a big win last week.
12p - JPW - This game seems to be a nice matchup on the turf as they both teams sit with identical records and will wrap up their season Saturday.
2p - MM - Big game. Really big game. The Panther Black travel to Wall hanging onto the 4th seed and take on the 3rd seed Eagles. What makes this game fun is how this may or may not shake up the seeds next week in the playoffs.

Big shout out to the cheerleaders.
The results from the Cheer Competition last Sunday are as follows:
MM Division: 3rd place - Sturgis Buccaneers; 2nd place - Belle Fourche Colts; 1st place and 2021 Champions RC Steelers.
JPW Division: 3rd place - Sturgis Buccaneers; 2nd place - RC Broncos; 1st place and 2021 Champions Piedmont Valley Panthers.
PW Division: 3rd place - Belle Fourche Colts; 2nd place - Spearfish Rams; 1st place and Champions for 2021 and I will say it again the Piedmont Valley Panthers.

Have your eyes out for our early bird special which will drop this weekend. It's the biggest savings of the year with limited registrations available.

More exciting news is the announcement of our 3rd association in Rapid City, the Rapid City Raiders commissioned by Brad Kirksey. This will cause a realignment in our Rapid City area similar to the alignment of Little League baseball. More details to come on this as we have further discussions with our Rapid City Steelers, Broncos, and Raiders Associations. Our initial conversation we will split into West Rapid, Central Rapid, and East Rapid including Rapid Valley.

We also are excited to announce our new commissioner down in Custer as Preston Gallegos takes over looking to bring new energy to the Custer Ravens Football & Cheer.

Some here we are. Week 7..... With our BHYFL 1st round of playoffs hanging in the horizon.
