What? Week 6? Already?
Are you ready for some football? I ask... Are you ready for some football?.... R U Ready?
We would like to take a minute and thank all our weekly sponsors Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic, Rapid City Marshals Indoor Football Team, High Plains Physical Therapy, Century Construction Services, and Scheels.
Let's start our morning in Hot Springs as the Sturgis Buccaneers Youth Football & Cheer travel down south.
10a- MM - We kick off the day with two teams still trying to find their way this year both sitting at 1-3 looking to pick up a little late season magic.
12p - JPW - In game two of the day the Sturgis Bucs look to get a road win against a Bills team with a similar record.
2p - PW - The Bucs come to town undefeated and atop the PW division looking to knock the Bills out of the playoff picture. For the Bills, they look to rebound from a tough loss last week and keep a glimmer of hopes alive for the playoffs.
The Spearfish Rams BHYFL host the Box Elder Patriot with playoff implications in all three divisions.
10a - MM - The Patriots shoot on over to Spearfish to rebound from a tough loss last week. For the Patriots it's a must win game if they have hopes of making the playoffs while the Rams look to win back-to-back games for the first time in a couple years in the MM division.
12p - JPW - In game two the Rams currently sit in the four slot while the Patriots have their eyes set on a late season upset.
2p - PW - We wrap the day up over in Spearfish with two teams sitting in the playoff hunt with 4-1 records. For the team that wins it all but solidifies their spot in the playoffs while the team that falls short will have their eyes on the matchup over in Deadwood and down in Hot Springs.
Speaking of Deadwood, that is where we have the Badlands Eagles Youth Football and Cheerleading Eagles flying to town in an important late season matchup against the Lead-Deadwood Youth Football Association 49ers.
1p - MM - The Eagles look to keep their flight path in order and clinch a playoff spot against a 49ers team that has struggled to get in the end zone recently.
3p - JPW - In game two we flip the script when the 49ers look for a little home field luck as they take on an Eagles roster coming off a big win last week.
5p - PW - This folks will be a dandy. The Eagles need a win as they sit right outside the playoff picture against an undefeated 49ers squad who haven't given up a point since week 2.
Again, this week the School of Mines in Rapid City plays host to a few associations.
8a - MM - Is it too early in the morning for the "Game of the Week"? We don't think so. Maybe this is a little precursor to the High School season where next week the annual Central/Stevens Rivalry game takes place. But before we get to that, let's talk about the BHYFL Rapid City Steelers and the BHYFL Rapid City Broncos. The Steelers are listed as the home team so they will have the stands sideline. Both teams sit at 5-0, undefeated, and atop the MM division. This will be a dandy. Both teams came off tough games last week and are coached extremely well. I know it's early, but this has all the makings of a classic. Forget the coffee, these kids will wake you up.
10a - MM - We will keep the little guys on the field for our second game of the day as the Piedmont Valley Panthers Youth Football And Cheer Association Panthers Blue will be the home team on the stands sideline against the Belle Fourche Colts. The Blue team comes off a big first win while the Colts look to pick up a late season win on the turf.
12p - JPW - The Colts remain the visitor on the parking ramp sideline as the RC Bronco Orange team takes the field. I don't promise a lot in sports but I will promise you one of these teams will pick up their 1st win of the year.
2p - PW - The RC Bronco Orange and the Colts play in the third game of the day. Again, much like the game before them, one team will pick up their 1st win of the year.
4p - JPW - We get back to our Rapid City Rivalry games. The RC Broncos Blue come into the game as a clear-cut team to beat in the JPW division against a RC Steelers team that is a clear-cut team to beat the favored Bronco Blue team. All I know is this is a clear cut "Game of the Week".
6p -PW - In the final contest of the evening we have two teams that sit next to each other in the standings and should be a good contest.
