BHYFL Week 3

21 Sep 2021 by Cody Uran

Ohhhhhhhhh Nelly! Things are shaping up for an exciting Week 3 of BHYFL football sponsored by High Plains Physical Therapy.

Let's kick things off up in Spearfish Rams BHYFL where the BHYFL Rapid City Broncos Blue and their undefeated squad come to town to battle the undefeated Rams.
9a - JPW - This should be a good ole fashion slug fest between two teams who play with a lot of confidence and have experienced a bunch of success. The winner will certainly put themselves in a solid spot atop the division after just three weeks.

11a - PW - In the second contest of the day the Spearfish Rams look to bounce back against a RC Bronco Blue team hoping to jump start their season. This is a big game for both teams as they begin to look at the "way too early" playoff picture.

Over in Deadwood we have the Patriots jetting to town against a Lead-Deadwood Youth Football Association 49er's playing with a full deck of cards this year.
10a - JPW - This game features a couple rosters looking to put a crooked number in the win column. Both teams sit at 1-1 on the young year and a win would really elevate them into making a big run on the back half of the schedule.

12p - PW - In game two we feature a couple undefeated teams who really get after it on the defensive side of the ball. If the Patriots hope to stay undefeated against this powerful 49er attack, they will need to activate their afterburners because these 49ers don't need any luck as they create their own.

2p - MM - We put the youngsters on the field to wrap the day up as we showcase two teams with identical records of 1-1. Both teams will have to show their cards in this barnburner.

Down in Hot Springs the Bills play on their field for the first time this year against a Belle Fourche Colts team looking to capitalize after a week off to get healthy and make some adjustments.
10a - MM - Both of these teams are off to a rough start this year. Fortunately, they are getting better with each rep and one will leave the field with their first win of the season.

12p - JPW - Much can be said about this game as well. Both teams come in hungry for their first win. The Colts will try to pony up against a Bills team that battled to the end last week in a slug fest.

2p - The Colts will have to come with their "A" game if they look to knock off the Bills in their own territory. The Bills looked solid last week running all over their opponent and pitching a shutout.

The Sturgis Buccaneers Youth Football & Cheer play host to a couple different associations in Week 3 sponsored by High Plains Physical Therapy.
11a - PW - This Bucs team is no joke. They play some big-time football and sit undefeated at the top of the division looking to improve their record against a RC Bronco Orange team ready to bounce back after a slow start. We all know these Broncos have fire in their belly so expect them to rear back and not give up.

1p - JPW - In game two of the afternoon the RC Bronco Orange look to bring some momentum into Sturgis after a close fought game last week. The Bucs also look to bounce back from a couple tough opponents to kick off their year.

3p - MM - The Badlands Eagles Youth Football and Cheerleading Eagles fly to town against a Bucs team looking to make a little noise. Both teams bounced back after falling short the first week and enter the contest at 1-1. In a highly competitive MM division, an early season match up like this can prove to be big dividends by the end of the year.

Piedmont Valley Panthers Youth Football And Cheer Association has a full slate of games on tap for Saturday. I will also add due to daylight pregame will start 5 mins after completion of the game in front of them.
10a - MM - The Piedmont Valley Panther Black team sits on top of the division against a Steelers team right on their heels. That's right folks, this is your "Game of the Week." Last week the BHYFL Rapid City Steelers ran 7 plays and scored 7 touchdowns. These Panthers better come in with their paws ready if they are going to slow down this impressive offensive attack of the Steelers.

12p - JPW - This too folks will also be a barn burner as both teams come into the game undefeated and looking to put their stamp on division. It's scary how even these two teams appear to be as both have given up the identical points this year.

2p - PW - Much is the same in the 3rd game. Two teams that appear to be equal on paper so I would expect a fun contest with some nail-biting moments.

4p - MM - The Broncos take the short ride over to Piedmont with their 2-0 record as they take on the Piedmont Valley Panther Blue team. The Blue team looks to help their own out and knock the Broncos from the unbeatens.

Again, in Piedmont we will begin announcement 5 mins after the completion of a game. Refs will be informed of this to make sure games are moved along and will help Cody and his team in managing this.

Thanks again to all the volunteers and our officials who make this possible.
