Fresh from the news Chinley had been promoted to the top league whilst Whaley Bridge remain in the lower tier, the U10’s set out to prove people wrong.
A superb first half performance saw Whaley race into a 4-1 half time lead with some great team
passages of play.
A 5th goal at the start of the second half saw Whaley Bridge cruising. Credit to Chinley though, their number 16 drove through the heart of the Whaley team on 3 occasions late on to set up a nerve wracking finish. However Whaley held on! A great example of the heights this team can reach and the areas still to improve on. Special mention to William in goal in the second half for some great saves and to Alexa as player
of the match for a tough defensive performance.
