The Academy of Classical Christian Studies is pleased to announce the selection of Bror Olson as the high school girls Head Basketball Coach. Coach Bror Olson comes to The ACADEMY from Mid-Del School District, where he spent the last few years teaching science and coaching multiple sports including basketball. Coach Olson has over 25 years of coaching experience including High School Girls AAU teams, middle school basketball, youth basketball, as well as private basketball skills training. Several of his club team girls have gone on to receive scholarship offers.
Before his education career began, Coach Olson served in the United States Air Force for 15 years – instilling in him integrity, honesty, and commitment. These values tie into his coaching philosophy which centers on the process of growth, fundamental skill development, commitment, selflessness, and team unity.
Coach Olson played Junior College ball at Rose State (OK) and Slippery Rock (PA). He also played in Germany for three years with the Armed Forces Team. Bror earned his BA from UCO and has a Masters of Education in Special Education. His passing for teaching and mentoring athletes on and off the court was learned from his father who was also a long-time high school and college coach.
“Coach Olson has a passion for the hearts of students and for multi-sport athletes. He gets the Vision of a Griffins Athlete and will help promote all of our programs. We are excited about the future of our Girls Basketball program at all levels under his direction and coaching.”
Bror and his wife Jill have been married for 27 years and both enjoy spending time with family and friends.
