Clearing up the schedule for racing optis and 420s

8 Jun 2019 by David Cooley

We cancelled this mornings race because of a lack of wind.
Seems like I’ve talked to a lot of people who haven’t gotten a firm grasp on when and where we’re racing... so that’s probably on me. Anyway, here’s the deal.

Tues: 9 am we show up at the MYC and rig optis and 420s. At 10 we race them. Terry and Eric are the PRO team. Around noon we have a luncheon, talk to Jen Stafford if you’d like to volunteer to host one.

Saturday: 9:00 am We show up at MYC and rig 420’s only. Race at 10. Scott Tillema is the PRO and is doing a series of very quick races.

The sailing area on both days, until further notice, is down at The MYC between buoy 6 and buoy 5.

Kristen is also doing race lessons on various afternoons.

The MYC sponsors the Jr. sailing program, providing boats, facilities, and volunteers. They have been very generous in creating and supporting the program over the years. The best way for our advanced junior sailors who have come up through the program to repay their generosity is to pay it forward. We have Intro to sailing for the little kids on Thursdays at 9:30. The program depends on advanced sailors coming back and teaching the younger kids what they’ve learned. Right now our numbers appear to be down on Thursdays, so we don’t need every advanced sailor every Thursday, but if you’re available occasionally, please come down and help!
