The Galle Super Province coaching team conducted a comprehensive review of the SLYL Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 tournaments, bringing together both provincial and district coaches for a detailed performance evaluation session.

The review was closely observed by two of Sri Lanka Cricket’s most respected coaching experts — Ruwan Kalpage and Heshan De Mel — who provided valuable insights into modern coaching techniques, talent identification, and long-term player development pathways.

Throughout the session, coaches analyzed player performances from the recent tournaments, identifying strengths, gaps, and key developmental priorities. The main focus was on enhancing player performance, strengthening skill execution under pressure, and ensuring that youth players are progressing in line with Sri Lanka Cricket’s high-performance standards.

Provincial and district coaches also discussed training methods, match preparation routines, and individualized plans to support emerging talent across the Galle region. The session emphasized structured coaching, clear performance metrics, and fostering a competitive yet supportive environment for young cricketers.

This review marks an important step toward elevating provincial-level cricket and ensuring that promising players are guided effectively as they transition through the SLYL pathway toward national youth selections.
