Dambulla U-15 SLYL Players Gear Up: “Preparation Is the Key” – High-Impact Education Session Held at Berjaya Hotel

The Under-15 Galle squad of the Sri Lanka Youth League (SLYL) took part in a high-impact Player Education Program led by Kasela Chamara , focusing on the theme “Preparation Is the Key.”
The session took place at Berjaya Hotel from3.00 pm to 5.00 pm., aiming to equip young players with the mental, physical, and tactical tools necessary for peak tournament performance.
Nilantha Wimalaweera guided the players through several key learning areas:
🔹 Team Branding & Bonding
Building team identity, unity, leadership roles, and togetherness on and off the field.
🔹 Proper Tournament Preparation
Understanding routines, recovery plans, discipline, hydration, nutrition, and match-day readiness.
🔹 Technical & Tactical Development
Sharpening core cricketing skills and improving tactical decision-making during pressure moments.
🔹 Physical & Mental Conditioning
Strength, mobility, mindset training, confidence, focus, and emotional control.
🔹 Game Awareness & Key Aspects
Recognizing game phases, reading opposition tactics, adjusting strategies, and identifying momentum shifts.
🔹 Pressure vs Challenge Mindset
Teaching players to reframe pressure as an opportunity, driving stronger performances under demanding situations.
The Player Education Program continues to be a vital component of SLYL’s youth development pathway, ensuring young cricketers build strong habits, discipline, and a deep understanding of the modern game.
