To the Hockey Tweed Community , Hockey Tweed have been closely monitoring the current health situation regarding COVID-19 with various advice from Hockey Queensland, Hockey Australia and The Australian Government.

Sport is an integral component of people’s social interaction and has positive effects on both their physical and mental wellbeing.

We understand and appreciate the concern within the Hockey Tweed Community about minimising the spread and maintaining the correct social distancing measures.

There is no suggestion that hockey players are at more risk and the Government has advised on the continued support of community sport, however, Hockey Tweed have taken the difficult decision to suspend club fixtures until May 2nd 2020. Super 6’s will resume on April 27.

If the situation improves, there is chance that we start club fixtures before May 2.

During this time we encourage all clubs to maintain lines of communication with their members through social media and emails to keep motivation levels up, continue on with practising skills at home and staying physically actively where possible.
