27 May 2017 by Frank Scarpaci

The Florida Eels announces a major signing of Hayden Haldane of Clifton Park, New York to its USPHL Premier team. Hayden is a forward 5’9” 180 pounds. Hayden played high school hockey for Shenendehowa High where he amassed an impressive 24 goals and 15 assists. Hayden also played part of last season with the Junior Bruins Elite team in the USPHL. Hayden joined us several weeks ago at both the Pro Am NHL Pre Draft and the USPHL Spring showcases. At the New England Showcases he continued to impress the Eels Premier Head Coach, Frankie Scarpaci as he scored several key goals and assisted on 4 others. Coach Scarpaci commented, he plays a lot like Eels former captain Jordan Court.

General Manager, Frank Scarpaci had targeted Hayden last year as Eels scout and former Head Coach of the Eels USP3 team, Sean Price, scouted Hayden at the Five Hole Junior Prospects Showcase in Indianapolis, Indiana. We knew he was a guy we wanted this season. He plays an Eels style of play. He is a hard nose high tempo player. Like Jordan Court he brings enormous energies and intensity to the game. GM Scarpaci says he also reminds me a lot like another alumni and former captain Alex Sanchez. He plays with heart, determination and grit. You can see Hayden has the “will to win” and it is that type of determination that builds national championship teams. During the showcase Coach Scarpaci echoed, you can see Hayden plays with that edge and it is that ingredient that helps spark his fellow teammates.

The Eels are extremely happy with Hayden joining our Premier team for next season. There are new standards set for the Elite and Premier teams established across the board by the league and this young man fits the recipe.
